Perspective

Ambiguity can be paralyzing … or … it can be a problem that requires a problem solver.

Hmm, I like solving problems.

2010 Mini 5K training race

David and I ran in the Mini-marathon 5K training race this morning. It was cold! He looked really strong. He was running side-by-side with the leader at the 1 mile mark.

It’s hard to know what to say when people compliment him after the race. What do I say, “Thanks”? They weren’t giving ME a compliment. I didn’t finish in the top 5. I didn’t even finish in the top 100. So, I tend to just nod my head as if to say, “I agree, I’m very proud of him.” Hopefully, that doesn’t come across as arrogant.

Bible Study app

I think I’ll start with a Bible-focused iPhone app first. I can keep it simple. And, I can dog-food it pretty easily. I can use it each morning when I do my DQT. And, I can use it on Sunday mornings during church.

I figure I’ll need a web service in order to store content that users will want to share and allow them to connect with each other. So, I created a Google App Engine app tonight. If you figure that I spent about half my time working on the app and the other half watching the Winter Olympics’ opening ceremonies, it took me about an hour to throw together.

Here’s the app: Bible Study

btw: The reason the page looks strangely narrow is so that it is viewable easily from an iPhone web browser.

Distracted by Google Buzz

I’m officially distracted tonight. I haven’t felt good all day. I think I picked up a cold from someone in the office. There’s a lot of “PTO - not feeling well” at work this week.

On top of that, Google Buzz is a cool, easy distraction. So, instead of working on Exact Target stuff or on learning to think outside of .NET. I’ll be mindlessly “buzzing” tonight. Isaiah will be keeping me company after Amanda and the kids go to bed. Hopefully, I’ll feel better tomorrow.
